The NLT Study Bible is online!
posted by Laura Bartlett at 9:45 AM
Have you been wanting to try out the NLT Study Bible, but aren't sure yet if you want to make the investment to buy it? Now you try can it out for free online.

It's a full version of the NLT Study Bible, including the NLT Text, study notes, introductions, in-text features, and most of the front and back matter (dictionary, concordance, indexes, reading plan, etc). You can sign up for 30-day free trial account here.

If you own a printed copy of a NLT Study Bible, you get free unlimited access to the NLT Study Bible online. Each print copy of the NLT Study Bible comes with a card with a unique registration code that allows you to activate your account.

Here's why we like using the NLT Study Bible online:

-Hyperlinked cross-references and dictionary/concordance/indexes
-Copy and paste text and images for personal study, writing, or lesson preparation
-Accessible from any computer without carrying the print Bible with you
-Ability to record personal notes coming soon

It's still in beta, so we'd really appreciate your feedback. Comment here or email me your thoughts and any suggestions you have for improvement.

This is the best thing about this study bible. I've already used this service in my own bible study and sermon lessons (after only two weeks of use!). It allows me to use the notes without having to lug the whole Bible up with me or having to type out all the notes. I can see using the maps and pcitures to help graphically in my sermon presentations as well.

Again, I want to just reiterate how awesome this feautre is and it shows Tyndale is clearly desiring to reach the 21st century world. Good job!

I'd suggest putting the columns for the NLT text and the NLTSB notes in separately scrolling panes, so that it would be easy to position the relevant text alongside the notes for ease of reference. (That would also mean users wouldn't need to keep closing notes to stop the NLT text scroll off the top of the screen, and you could also offer an option to expand all the notes automatically.)

Great idea, John. I'll look into doing this. Thanks.

I know that this is a late comment. I currently have been using the 30 day trial, and want to know if there is the ability to add notes? Also, can you add hyperlinks to your own personal notes that you add? Can you highlight verses as well?

If these questions are already answered please point me to them, thanks!

IM: Good question. There is not currently a notes-making ability, but this feature is coming and the early comps I've seen of the feature look great.

Problem with my online NLT Study Bible Trial beta version ~~

There is no text for the following NT chapters:

Luke 13, John 8, John 15, Acts 4-9 and 1 Cor 8, Phil 3 and 4

However, the Notes of the above chapters DO display.

The following Chapters of the Minor Prophets of the OT also have notes only, but no text:

Joel 1, Micah 6

Have not checked the books before that.

Also, no way to contact or get help on the Trial Beta. Had to do a Google search to find this particular blog.

So, far the notes have been excellent!

Thanks!
