New options for using the NLT Study Bible
posted by Keith Williams at 9:37 AM
The NLT Study Bible has now been out for over a year, but we're still working hard to bring you more and more ways to use this great tool for understanding the Bible.

When the NLT Study Bible first appeared, it was already available in multiple formats. In addition to the ten print options, we offered a full online edition, versions for Logos Bible Software and WORDsearch, and a mobile version from Laridian. These are all great options, and they are all still available--but we definitely weren't done yet.

Now, it has been released in another mobile format from OliveTree. I have been using this version on my iPod Touch for a few months now, and I love it. I haven't used it on any of the other mobile platforms, but in the iPhone/iPod Touch version, there are some very unique and useful features that debuted with this release, including icons integrated with the Bible text that make for one-touch access to the NLT Study Bible content in a popup window, without switching from one book to another.

[If you are interested in getting this version from OliveTree, think about doing it soon. They have a 22% off coupon on their website that expires 8/15/09]

Don't forget about the NLT Study Series, a collection of devotional guides using the NLT Study Bible that launches with volumes on Genesis, John, Romans, and James in the next few weeks.

This fall, four more print options will be available: genuine leather in black and burgundy, and two new LeatherLike options. We're also working on preparing an edition for Kindle, but no release date has been set.

Are there any other formats in which you would like to see the NLT Study Bible available?

I too would love to see the NLT Study Bible on Accordance. My 7 year old daughter and I are working through her NLT Study Bible from Gen to Rev (currently in . She reads from the printed version and when she has questions we go the NLT on accordance to search... it sure would be handy for her to have the full content available in accordance too!

Thank you SO much for asking!

And I've stated my desire for an Accordance module as well. I wish this had been available with the launch of the NLTSB.

Getting it released on Accordance really would be a 'coming of age' for the electronic version of any bible resource.

My wife would like a compact edition, similar to what you did for the Life Application Study Bible.

I have the NLT and the Life Application Study Notes on e-Sword, and would love to have the NLT Study Bible notes available for that platform as well. And I'll second Accordance for the Mac too (I use both platforms).

I love the personal size paperback NLT Life Application format as well. If it would be possible to make one with the NLT Study that would be nice.
